Country and coastal pursuits

From Michaelmas House, you’ll find the glorious English countryside just outside your front door.Travel West, East, or North into the heart of it, or go South for the Jurassic Coast.

Wend your way West and you’ll pass the National Trust’s House and Gardens at Kingston Lacy and the Iron Age fort at Badbury Rings before swinging down deep through rural Dorset to Dorchester, the heart of Hardy’s Wessex. Drive to the East and you’ll quickly find yourself in the New Forest National Park, with its heathland and enclosures, its walking trails, and its ponies. Head North and discover the little known pleasures of Cranborne Chase; South and you'll be on the beautiful Dorset Coast, with its hidden coves and beaches. There is much to delight here, whether you like to walk, to cycle, or just to take a leisurely drive though lanes that are still traffic free with hedgerows that are full of life.
